Works Commencing on race tracks

It is an exciting time at Caulfield Racecourse Reserve as work commences on constructing the second racetrack in line with the Land Management Plan and delivering on an enhanced racing experience.

To deliver on this transformation of the Racing experience, areas of the Reserve will have access restricted as they become worksites for the safety of all. This includes the Racetracks themselves and two areas in the middle for earthmoving equipment / soil stockpiles.

The works and closure of areas to support the works will be in place from start June 2022 to June 2023.

Community access to the remainder of the Reserve will remain via the two existing tunnels, being the Guineas Tunnel and the Glen Eira tunnel.

The Trust is working with the MRC to vary the hours of access at the Reserve to increase the hours available for community use.

The Trust is continuing to work towards securing the funding and resources to deliver on other elements of the Land Management Plan, with the request for proposal closing late June and ongoing discussions with Government.
