Vision for future Land Management Plan for Caulfield Racecourse Reserve unveiled

In a comprehensive Information Pack, the Trust outlines how it will develop a future plan for the Reserve, and achieve the long-term vision it has set out, which aims to make the precinct the centre of community life.

Since it’s appointment in 2018, the Trust has considered the views of the community, as well as its operating context and legislative obligations to form the vision, along with a set of guiding principles, that underpin a robust blueprint to develop the Land Management Plan over the coming year.

Caulfield Racecourse Reserve Trust Chairperson, Sam Almaliki, said that the information is an essential part of providing transparency to the community on the Trust’s progress, and how the Reserve will look when the vision is achieved.

“The Trust has developed and outlined our program of work for the coming year, to ensure that our future aspirations for the Reserve become a reality – an accessible, vibrant, flexible and inclusive place that plays a vital role in the local community.”

“To successfully develop the Land Management Plan, close consultation with our community is paramount, and their ideas and input play an important role to ensure that we secure the best outcome for the Reserve”, Mr Almaliki said.

The release follows a Community Information Session which was held on Monday, 13 May and attended by more than 50 stakeholders and interested community members.

“We encourage our community members to continue to join in the conversation and come forward to provide their views in the coming months.

Through our engagement to date, already a number of themes are beginning to emerge and we look forward to further community consultation”, said Mr Almaliki.

The next chance to be involved in the planning process will be at an Issues and Opportunities Community Workshop which is scheduled for July/August and will be advertised shortly.

The Land Management Plan Information Pack also outlines the Trust’s project methodology and governance and key dates for developing the plan.
