Caulfield Racecourse Reserve Trust appoints inaugural General Manager

Caulfield Racecourse Reserve Trust is delighted to announce the appointment of Andrew Paxton as General Manager, effective from Monday, 2 September 2019.

Andrew has extensive experience working in leadership roles in the government sector, including several local councils, where he held management positions for Cardinia Shire Council, Yarra Ranges Council and Knox City. Prior to that, he held a senior role with Parks Victoria.

Andrew is also a current member of the board of Phillip Island Nature Parks, one of Victoria’s major tourism icons.

Caulfield Racecourse Reserve Trust Chairperson, Sam Almaliki, said that Andrew was joining the organisation at a pivotal moment.

“The Trust will deliver a ten-year Land Management Plan for the site in June next year, and Andrew will be working closely with stakeholders and the community as we explore new and exciting opportunities to open up the space and enhance its usage.” said Mr Almaliki.

“We are pleased that Andrew will be leading this project and more broadly the day to day management of the Trust. He is a highly experienced leader and urban planner with a track record of delivering results.”

Mr Paxton said that he felt privileged to be guiding the use and development of such a unique and important piece of land.

“I’m looking forward to working with our stakeholders and the wider community and delivering a Land Management Plan, which will set the scene for the future of the Reserve.”
